Madam, - Am I alone in thinking house and car alarms a complete nuisance? I ask in the aftermath of having been woken up four times this morning by an offending alarm.
I am convinced that nobody takes any positive notice of such devices and that they do little to put off a would-be thief.
Would it not be a good idea to abolish such alarms and so do just a little to diminish the already high level of noise pollution in this city? - Yours, etc,
