Madam, - It would appear that the nurses' claim for increased pay has been dismissed by Minister for Health Harney on the grounds that they have received a 60 per cent increase in pay since 1997.
Leaving percentages aside, it might help us taxpayers to evaluate the justification for the nurses' claim were we able to compare the actual amount of increased pay they have received in their pay packets since 1997, compared with that received by Government Ministers. - Yours, etc,
