Madam, – On the same day that you published the contents of the will of the great Irish wit Oscar Wilde, you continue to print the wonderful wit of the Irish “at home” in your Letters page.
Gerry Keating’s letter (August 11th) on politicians’ expenses is such a one. It is a rare gift and lifts the hearts of readers in this doom and gloom. As long as we have the odd wag out there we will surely be defined by more than our alcohol consumption. – Yours, etc,
