Madam, - In the 19th century, Germany's "Iron Chancellor" was credited with the following remark: "Believe nothing until it has been officially denied". This could well be applied today to Fianna Fáil's denials of lying to the electorate before the last general election, and the latest denial that there was no friction with the PDs over the proposal to restore college fees.
