Madam, - Having booked to fly from Dublin to Exeter last weekend with Flybe to see a close relative currently undergoing chemotherapy, we had to cancel our trip after my wife contracted a severe flu. When we phoned Flybe, their representative sympathised with our plight and immediately offered to change the ticket date, without any penalty or charge.

Is it not sad that a simple courtesy which one would have taken for granted a few years ago should now merit a letter to a national newspaper? - Yours, etc,

MARK ARMSTRONG, Goatstown, Dublin 14.
