Sir, - Working in the area of personnel, I have been surprised by the number of requests received from people who wish to remain in employment following their retirement. In my view, this is a significant resource of staff, particularly in today's labour market where there is an acute shortage of mature and experienced people.
Over the next 10 years the population over 65 is projected to increase significantly. We should be looking proactively at this emerging labour force and not discriminating on grounds of age. - Yours, etc.,
