Sir, – I find it appalling, yet unsurprising, that the Orange Order has initiated disciplinary action against two leading members who had the temerity to attend the funeral service of Ronan Kerr, a Catholic police officer killed by dissident republicans (Home News, September 15th). Perhaps decent and forward-looking Protestants and Unionists could now desert this so-called cultural organisation, which has, in truth, as much intellectual relevance in 21st-century Europe as the Flat Earth Society. – Yours, etc,
