A chara, – I am travelling this weekend and posted my passport for renewal a month ago. The automated passport tracking system on the website repeatedly told me that my application was targeted to be dispatched on June 7th. The word “targeted” covers a multitude.
Yesterday I tried phoning at a few minutes before 9am, and a recorded female voice gave me seven options. “Press one”, etc. I called just after 9am and a recorded male voice told me that unfortunately, due to the high volume of calls, the passport office could no longer accept calls but I could email, which I did, and got no response.
Do I have to take a day off and drive from Galway to Dublin to establish the status of my application? In this day and age, and so on. – Yours, etc,
