Sir, - Vincent Browne's excellent article on the economic boom (Opinion, November 12th) eloquently expresses what many of us now feel should be done with the enlarged national cake. As a taxpayer, I would wholeheartedly support the immediate targeting of areas of social and economic deprivation, using the revenues which appear to be earmarked for personal tax reductions. Perhaps it is time to consult the Irish taxpayer before these decisions are made. - Yours, etc.,
