Sir, - As an eircom customer I am disappointed with the recent decision to no longer provide a bill payment facility to customers in eircom stores.
As well as the inconvenience this will present to many of eircom's customers who prefer to pay their bills in this manner, I feel this decision, while possibly cost-effective in the short term, is anti-community in that it affords one less opportunity to many - especially senior customers - to socialise and interact in society.
It is sad to see so many similarly large companies and businesses depersonalising customer service and consequently further eroding community spirit. - Yours, etc.,
