Madam, - This morning I paid €155 for my TV licence, to subsidise RTÉ, a TV station I never watch, and a radio station I don't listen to.
Why I am obliged, by law, to pay this tax is beyond me.
We are not forced to pay road tax if we don't drive a car, so why pay for a TV station you don't watch?
Like the independent stations, RTÉ has income from advertising and programme sponsorship.
