Sir, - Doggone it, why can't you run these articles earlier ("Party perfect", December 19th)? We already had our Christmas party and darned if we didn't do everything wrong (except for omitting sushi). Our guests all cooked various old-fashioned things like cookies and banana bread. No champagne upon their arrival, just beer and soda. No Frank Sinatra or disco (buiochas le Dia!) but rather jigs and reels played by host and guests alike, including children. Word travels slowly to the hinterlands, but 10 years from now our guests will finally realise they should not have enjoyed it at all and we will be shunned. - Is mise,
