Sir, – To involve pharmacists in the medical management of patients it would be necessary for pharmacists to confirm that they are properly trained in modern scientific thinking.

A walk into any pharmacy will demonstrate the sale, not only of scientifically unproven herbal medicines, but also of copper bracelets, anti-wrinkle creams and other similar products.

It seems that many high street pharmacists straddle both modern medicine and folk medicine, and I would be wary of receiving medical treatment for an illness from the purveyor of such products. – Yours, etc,
