Sir, – Perhaps someone should remind Theo Dorgan (November 15th) that the act which binds loving heterosexual couples together and the act of generation are one and the same act. Most aspire to marriage, even those in same sex unions, though the act is different. While the love might be equal, the expression of it cannot be.
Perhaps that is why “equality” is the wrong word, and partnership the right one. – Yours, etc,
