Madam, – I would like to commend Ann Marie Hourihane for her suggestion (Opinion, August 24th) that our politicians should use public transport. Her recommendation has an elegant simplicity and could be implemented easily and without delay. Politicians could save the country a significant amount of money and they might well feel like doing something to improve public transport while they are at it. – Yours, etc,
