Political stone-throwing

Madam, - So Fianna Fáil is, once again, blaming someone else for its problems.

Madam, - So Fianna Fáil is, once again, blaming someone else for its problems.

This time it's the opposition parties, for giving the public the idea that the Government misled them before the last general election. Yet another example of the customary arrogance and disingenuousness we've all become accustomed to from this Government.

It's glaringly obvious that people themselves came to this conclusion, without any guidance, almost immediately after they naively and short-sightedly voted this administration in again! - Yours, etc.,

Madam, It is a bit late for Fine Gael spokespersons to tell us the Government has no intention of honouring its pre-election promises. A cursory examination of the election manifesto showed that the promises were for the most part aspirational and unlikely to be met. However, Fine Gael was unable to say this at the time as it had promised an even more outlandish spending spree if elected.

The reality is that the electorate was told what it wanted to hear and now that those expectations cannot be met some people want to have the election again. - Yours, etc.,
