Sir, - Your readers owe a debt of gratitude to Karlin Lillington for her article "Poor Irish showing at Brussels vote a severe blow for e-privacy" (Businesss This Week, June 7th).
Her brief, if depressing, account of the endeavours - or lack of them - of our monstrously muddled MEPs, going through the motions of performing their sentry duties on behalf of us miserable mere mortals as we become entangled and enmeshed in the new brave world of electronic data and its offshoots, is much appreciated.
When we are next confronted with the spectacle of having to vote for this subvented, superannuated shower of swaggering, surveillance-smitten somnambulists, then please do us all a huge favour and reprint this excellent article by Ms Lillington.
Elephants ought to be reminded - but please, please, don't e-mail us! And don't phone us either! - Yours, etc.,
VINCENT BREHENY,
