Sir, - I assume Fr O'Hanlon (April 8th) is writing with tongue firmly in cheek, when criticising the sartorial appropriateness of President Robinson at her recent meeting with the Pope. One of the world's largest collection of gauche dresses and "showy jewellery" is housed at the Vatican. In fairness to the men who wear them however, I am sure that they could in no way be described as "cheap". - Yours, etc.,
