PETER DOYLE,
Sir, - I note that some candidates have put up election posters prior to the election being called. This is in contravention of the Litter Act. I hope voters will not support candidates that are breaking the law. In my own constituency of Limerick East an independent candidate and a Government Junior Minister are flouting the law. Shame on you Mr O'Dea; you should know better. - Yours, etc.,
PETER DOYLE, The Fairways, Castletroy, Limerick.

Sir, - A brief party political broadcast: I refuse to vote for any politician whose face I see grinning inanely at me from lamp posts, traffic lights or other vertical surfaces. - Yours, etc.,
MICHAEL BOWLER, Connawood Drive, Bray, Co Wicklow.

Sir, - With the upcoming election I have noticed the proliferation of inane, fixed smiles grinning at me from various lamp-posts and telephone poles.
In this age of mass media do we really need this roadside litter, reminiscent of black-and-white days?.
Come on, you politicians, let's have fewer "mugs on poles". - Yours, etc.,
PADDY McGENNIS, Castletown Avenue, Celbridge, Co Kildare.
