Sir, - Recent controversial events in the Irish High Court reminded me of the film The Ad- dams Family. Subsequent reportage in this newspaper reminded me of the sequel, Addams Family Values.
On a more serious note, I must confess to a blind spot. I do not understand how the public interest is being served by concealing the identity of the principals involved. I am particularly concerned about the actions of the GP and the barrister. They must be held to account by their respective professional regulatory authorities.
The public needs to be reassured that such bodies exist primarily for the protection of the public. - Yours, etc.,
Dr Leonard Condren, Kylemore Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.
