Sir, - If President Bush decides to play war games by attacking Iraq, let us sincerely trust that the Taoiseach will immediately withdraw permission for any American military planes to use Irish airfields for refuelling or any other purpose.

We have no quarrel with the Iraqis, and should not give them cause to quarrel with us. - Yours, etc.,
