Sir, - I am an Episcopal priest in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am a former Roman Catholic. It is heartbreaking and shameful to see the way President McAleese has been treated by her Church for sharing in the Eucharist with the Church of Ireland at Christ Church Cathedral. The Eucharist is the sacrament of unity for all members of the Body of Christ. Isn't about time all of us got out from behind selfish and abrasive theology and remembered that we share in one baptism, one faith? Perhaps then we will honestly walk the pilgrimage and engage in the mission and ministry together that was intended for us since the Last Supper. Let's stop nailing each other to the cross.
