Sir, - A 30ml bottle of Zineryt (topical acne preparation) cost me £9.75 at a hospital pharmacy on December 14th. Exactly the same product cost €23.87 £18.80 at my local chemists yesterday. This is a spectacular difference, and of such a scale that it can't possibly be explained away by staff costs, overheads, etc.
Hospital pharmacies might not be in the business of making profit, but they certainly are not selling any product at a loss.
Does the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment take even the slightest interest in the massive profits being made by chemists? - Yours, etc.,
