Sir, – Vincent Browne’s comments (“Questions and answers on Denis O’Brien and his tax”, Opinion, February 27th) on the moves under way to require journalists working at Independent Newspapers to obtain written approval before writing any “sustained or repeated adversarial material concerning individuals or organisations” are welcome.
What I find strange about this affair is the silence from other members of the liberal/left media class. And what is Amnesty International’s view on this apparent attempt to restrict journalistic freedom? – Yours, etc,
