A chara, - Inadequacies in assessing and treating prostate cancer were highlighted in a recent report (The Irish Times, April 29th). Despite intense media and political attention to health, prostate topics are often neglected. That attitude is difficult to understand. Maybe it's because only males are directly affected, but men are also taxpayers.
The next general election campaign provides an opportunity to lobby for an adequate national programme of screening, counselling and treatment services for prostate problems.
