Madam, - I'm writing in defence of children in Irish primary schools. Wednesday's protests by these small children raise serious questions about parenting in today's society. Why do the organisers of these protests use small children for their political aims, when as parents and teachers they should take care of the development and civic education of these tender-aged youngsters? Anybody objecting to child labour certainly cannot condone the abuse of children by grown-ups for political gain! - Yours, etc.,
