Sir, - I must say I find it disturbing that British Nuclear Fuels can paraphrase statements made by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland to avert Canadian and Irish concerns over levels of radioactivity in the sea due to Sellafield discharges (May 8th). If the RPII want to make pronouncements about naturally-occurring radioactivity, they should cede responsibility for monitoring and advising on the levels and potential hazards of man-made radioactivity to a new, more focused, body which would not leave itself open to becoming, a dupe of the nuclear fuels industry. - Yours, etc.,
