Madam, - How ridiculous, but typical of the man, to see Pat Rabbitte demanding a Dáil debate on the contents of the Moriarty tribunal report (The Irish Times, December 22nd).
The Moriarty report was nearly 10 years in the making and its conclusions could not have been clearer. The subject of the report, Mr Haughey, is now dead and beyond the reach of Dáil, judiciary, and electorate.
What possible useful purpose could be served by a Dáil debate on the matter? A dead horse being flogged by a dead duck! - Yours, etc,
TONY PLUNKETT, Malahide Marina Village, Malahide, Co Dublin.
