Madam, – A new project aims to preserve the memory of individual seafarers who were killed as a result of belligerent action while they were serving on Irish-registered vessels during the second World War.

Relatives of those who died on Irish ships during the Emergency and who wish to have their own family experiences of that time recorded for posterity are invited to write up their story and send it to mulvanypeterie@yahoo.co.uk.

It is intended to publish in due course on our website and in book format a compilation of all articles submitted. Any photographs, documents, etc, loaned will be returned. Further information at www.irishseamensrelativesassociation.org. – Yours, etc,
