MRS MARY STEWART,
Sir, - I would like to think that Peter de Rosa is against the death penalty. However, I see that he makes one exception - the baby of a rape victim. With all the calls today for compassion and justice for victims the most vulnerable is seemingly fair game. I am convinced that future generations will look with horror on the acceptance of abortion as a solution to an unwanted pregnancy. While adoption is frowned on, killing is not.
I am one parent who would have to say to Peter de Rosa that I could not seek an abortion for a daughter made pregnant by a rapist. It makes no sense to add the trauma of abortion to that of rape. I expect the Crisis Pregnancy Agency to provide full support to those who find themselves with an unwanted pregnancy. Abortion is an irresponsible and unforgiving so-called solution. - Yours, etc.,
MRS MARY STEWART,
