Madam, - I am flabbergasted that Michael McDowell, a distinguished SC, is claiming that the joint declaration by the two governments provides "legal certainty" (The Irish Times, April 20th).
Mr McDowell must know full well that only a decision of the Supreme Court provides legal certainty. His wild claim brings his twin professions of law and politics into further disrepute. - Yours, etc.,
