Sir, – I’d be reluctant to forecast the outcome of the forthcoming referendums;however, if I were pressed on the matter,I might be tempted to suggest that apathy will (once again) be the real winner. Indeed,I’d be surprised if voter turnout exceeds 60 per cent. And it’s just as well that the presidential eligibility referendum is being held on the same day as the same-sex marriage one; otherwise, the turnout for that particular ballot would scarcely reach double figures. – Yours, etc,
