Sir, It seems to me that the British Government's prevarication about Bloody Sunday is the same thing as Sinn Fein's prevarication about Canary Wharf. The British Government "regrets", but refuses to condemn, the violence of the British army. Sinn Fein does not condone, but refuses to condemn, the violence of the IRA.

In these circumstances, it is silly on the face of it when either side condemns the other's prevarication or ambivalence. - Yours. etc.
