Sir, – I was saddened to learn of the recent death of Dr Mary Redmond ("Tributes to academic and lawyer Mary Redmond", April 7th). I met her socially and professionally on a number of occasions and was most impressed by her intelligence, empathy and her passionate commitment to her causes and clients. Her work in setting up the Irish Hospice Foundation and the Wheel was truly inspirational. May she rest in peace. – Yours, etc,
