Sir, – In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Terry was the life and soul of the Rathmines and Rathgar Musical Society's productions at the Gaiety Theatre. He was in Noël Coward's Bitter Sweet, Victor Herbert's Naughty Marietta and several Gilbert & Sullivan operas, including singing "Antonio" in the Gondoliers. His party piece at the society's celebrations was Catch a Falling Star and Put It In Your Pocket, which he performed complete with actions. To say it was utterly hilarious would be an understatement.
May he rest in peace. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Terry Wogan and I enjoyed a correspondence on all things Cornish. I managed to get Terry to say "Happy St Piran's Day" in Cornish on our national day (March 5th), and so in the 1980s he became the first national broadcaster to speak our language and helped the national recognition of Cornish on the BBC. He also agreed he should have used a Cornish not English band for the Floral Dance. – Yours, etc,
