Madam, - The St Nicholas of Myra parish centre in Dublin will publish a book in late 2009 on the "Bayno", the famous Bull Alley play centre established by the first Lord Iveagh, which served thousands of children from the Liberties for nearly 70 years. The building is now the Liberties College and continues to serve the people of the area.

We have gathered a lot of information and photographs and have interviewed many former participants, some now in their 70s. The Bayno was a most important amenity in the area and is fondly remembered by many people.

I would like to ask your readers who might have memories, stories or photographs to help us in publishing this great story. I can be contacted at the address below St Nicholas of Myra Parish Centre, Carman's Hall, Francis Street, Dublin 8 or by email to martin.lacey46@gmail.com. All contributions will be acknowledged and all photographs scanned and returned. - Yours etc,

MARTIN LACEY,
