Sir, - It was disgusting to note the amount of money that the Government poured into the purchase and refurbishment of Farmleigh House. This monument to vulgarity was proudly put on display by Martin Cullen as a place suitable for entertaining very important foreign visitors and for holding very important Government meetings. On the same day the papers reported that after six weeks no place could still be found for one very disturbed teenager from a dysfunctional family.
One can see why Bertie Ahern wishes to postpone calling an election for as long as possible. If he has any grain of intelligence at all, he must know that the electorate are out there waiting to show him just what they think of the priorities of this callous, incompetent and arrogant Government. - Yours, etc.,
