Sir, – I was delighted to read about our author Sorj Chalandon in Eamon Maher’s An Irishman’s Diary (March 26th).
The book he highlights, Retour à Killybegs, has indeed just been translated into English and will be our lead autumn title, Return to Killybegs. It’s prequel, My Traitor, was published by Lilliput Press last year.
Together, these prizewinning novels form a remarkable meditation on the nature of betrayal as seen through the character Tyrone Meehan. Sorj’s own friendship with the Republican Denis Donaldson has patently informed his work. – Yours, etc,
