Sir, - Further to ongoing research on the subject of the French School, Bray, may I ask if any of your readers know anything about Charles Baskerville Reighley (1807-1862), teacher and Evangelical church minister, particularly concerning his early life which may have been spent in Ireland?
He was, as far as is known, born in Ireland and of Irish extraction. In 1928 he was serving in a church in Maryland, and he spent the rest of his life in the US, moving to the Detroit/Michigan area, later to Mississippi and finally back to Detroit.
The usual channels of research have revealed no trace of him before 1928, and I would be very grateful if any of your readers could provide information about his whereabouts or background before this date. - Yours, etc.,
Jennifer Flegg, St Nicholas House, Rostrevor Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6.
