Sir, – I would like to add weight to the other side of the scales in regard to your Dublin Theatre Festival review (Sara Keating,Weekend Review, October 8th) of Fabulous Beast's production Rian. Your review saw it as a "shallow celebration", "a bit arbitrary" "(not) a considered performance . . .".

I saw it as something of a masterpiece, albeit needing a little editing. Michael Keegan Dolan’s choreography is of the genius kind, Mozartian in its simplicity, sublime. He’s a cunning and exemplary phraser in movement, has a great ear for the music, great artistic courage. The work is both primal and full of soul, one of the richest experiences I have had in a theatre. Therefore, I’ve extended the show an invitation to come to Western Australia.

Congratulations to the Dublin Theatre Festival and Sadlers Wells for backing this wonderful choreographer, one of the best on the world stage in my view. – Yours, etc,
