Sir, - Your music critic gave "a resounding yes" in answer to the question, is the NYOI under Anissimov, up to dealing with Wagner's Ring Cycle? It is hard to imagine anyone lucky enough to be in Limerick for it last week not agreeing. Indeed, they are likely to share the enthusiasm of the Independent of London's envoy, Roderic Dunnett, who wrote: "But oh, this young orchestra. Is it too much for them? Of course not. The young Irish are a model of musical maturity ... It's as good as hearing the Ring afresh, for the very first time ...
