Sir, – I, like most Irish people, am an avid fan of the Olympics. Every four years, we as a family share the peaks and the troughs of the emotional aspect of sport.
Hearing of Irish families having to forage from other countries the tickets to see their children compete in the Olympics is quite simply disgusting ("Family of Olympian claims firm had no online order system and ignored calls", August 23rd). It stinks. – Yours, etc,
CLAIRE FITZGERALD,

Co Cork.
Sir, – Tim Buckley's comment (August 23rd) that we would not treat suspected white-collar criminals so harshly here in Ireland is as much an indictment of our justice system as that of Brazil.
Furthermore, “nobody died” is about as lame a defence as one could put forward. – Yours, etc,
KATIE HARRINGTON,
Dublin 12.
A chara, – Going to international sports events here, I invariably see ticket touts operating. Do we need to borrow some police from Brazil to deal with this issue, or is our law defective? – Is mise,
SEÁN Ó CUINN,
An Charraig Dhubh,
Co Átha Cliath.
