KILLIAN FORDE,
Madam, - I was delighted to see a feature in your edition of January 31st on inflation and overcharging. I was even happier to see that this feature was to be a weekly event. At last, I thought, the paper of record, the paper read by the policy-makers and politicians, is saying "enough is enough".
But I noticed next day that the price of The Irish Times was to increase from Monday. The words pot, kettle and black spring to mind! - Is mise,

... ... * ... * ... * ... ...
Madam, - I quote from page 1 of your edition of February 1st: "From next Monday the price of The Irish Times will be €1.45. . ."
I feel, as a loyal reader of The Irish Times for the past 40 years, that I am owed at least an explanation for the 5 cent increase. - Yours, etc.,
JOE McDONAGH, Chapel Street, Sligo.
