Sir, – I am at a loss to understand the attempt by Donnybrook Garage to head-hunt Vinny Fitzpatrick (Roddy L’Estrange, Against the Odds, Sport, January 11th) to help with the roll-out of real-time estimates on south city bus routes.
So far their operation on his beloved Routes 29A, 31 and 32 has been pretty haphazard. While the estimated times of arrival are displayed at the bus stops on the Howth Road at the Texaco Garage on Sybil Hill there is nothing shown at the much busier stops on either side at Raheny and Killester.
Maybe having turned down the lucrative transfer package to Donnybrook, Vinny can now apply himself a little more diligently to the completion of the work on his home patch. – Yours, etc,
