Madam, - The media coverage concerning penalty points and road safety prompted me to consult my copy of Rules of the Road.
When I opened the booklet I noticed from inside the front cover that it was a 1995 publication. Opposite there is a photograph of Brendan Howlin, TD, described as Minister for the Environment. I phoned Government Publications, who confirmed that, yes, I do have the most up-to-date version of the booklet.
Would it not be a good idea and a contribution to the cause to update the Rules of the Road booklet so as to take into account all changes since its last publication? - Yours, etc.,
