Sir, – My sympathy goes out to all those living in rural communities who have no access to public transport (March 9th). Switzerland has an easy and very obvious answer to the problem of providing transport to remote tiny communities – the postman! The post van and bus delivers the mail and at the same time takes passengers to the nearest town. As it is a daily service, it performs two vital roles. Is there not a daily postal delivery service to Bunclody or Caherdaniel? The resolution to this problem requires joined-up thinking . Perhaps a step too far for An Post and CIÉ ? – Yours, etc,
