Sir, – Ryanair's decision to pull out of the North because of air passenger duty is wrong and shortsighted ("Ryanair to scrap all Northern Ireland flights, blaming passenger taxes and lack of Covid supports", Business, August 24th). The British government levy for a 3,200 kilometre journey is only £13 per passenger. That is considerably more than someone driving to Dublin would have to pay for petrol there and back or a taxi there and back. Just charge the customer and say who gets that bit of the fare. The customer can then take it up with their local MP. – Yours, etc,
BILL KEE,
Skerries,
Co Dublin.
