Sir, - Liam Byrne (March 21st) is quite right. All companies must have a safety statement - and the small employer is perhaps even more vulnerable to the effects which workplace accidents have on a business.
The Health and Safety Authority published a popular Model Safety Statement for Small Businesses some years ago. Copies are available, free of charge, from any of our offices. - Yours etc
