Sir, – Liam Breen (September 4th) notes in his letter that he could not find “rain” anywhere in the Irish Times five-day forecast.
But he will find fog forecast – every day for the next five days. As a daily reader of the forecast, I estimate The Irish Times predicts fog on more than 90 per cent of days each year – even for days when the country is swept by fog-clearing gales.
Outsiders must assume that Ireland is fogbound most of the time. – Yours, etc,
