Sale of council flats in Dublin

As a city councillor I attended all the Strategic Policy Committee meetings of Dublin City Council dealing with the issue of selling the flats and I strongly supported this policy. I find it nauseating to hear of Labour's support for this issue, now that it has become a reality.

The position of Labour Party councillors who attended those meetings varied from outright opposition to ambivalence. For the record, Cllr Lacey did not attend any of these meetings when this issue was being discussed.

There are many complex issues surrounding the sale of the flats. I reiterate my belief that any income accruing from it must be returned to the City Council to enable it to continue its work and help alleviate the housing crisis.I will continue to work as a public representative to try and ensure that this happens. - Yours, etc.,
